Dental Crowns Bismarck
The Perfect Match for Your Smile
A common tooth restoration, the dental crowns used at our Bismarck practice are made of porcelain, as opposed to the unsightly metal of yesteryear. When a tooth is weakened from cracks, decay, or large, old fillings, the area can be restored to match the color of your natural teeth. The newly protective cap allows you to flash a purely bright, uninterrupted smile, front teeth and all!
At Heringer Dentistry, Everett E. Heringer, D.D.S. expertly places custom-crafted dental crowns out of porcelain to meet the restorative dentistry needs of our patients. If you suffer from extensive tooth decay or have damaged teeth, dental crowns may be the solution you are seeking.

The Dental Crown Procedure
The procedure for dental crowns requires two visits at our ideally situated Bismarck practice. First, Dr. Heringer will clear out areas of decay within the designated tooth and remove part of the tooth's structure, effectively making room for the core buildup which internally strengthens the tooth. Before he takes the final impression for the lab, he uses laser to remove diseased gum tissue, further enhancing his preparation. The lab will use the impressions for creating your individualized crown. The mold will help the lab make a beautiful crown that harmoniously fits with your surrounding gums, teeth and bite. Before you leave, a temporary crown will be placed to protect the tooth. As soon as your porcelain crown is ready, you will return to our facilities for the final stage. Dr. Heringer will replace your temporary crown with your new porcelain crown. He will lastly have you practice a few exercises to make sure that you are comfortable with the new crown(s).
Benefits of Dental Crowns
Patients who elect for porcelain dental crowns at our Bismarck practice experience multiple benefits:
- They may be used to anchor a dental bridge or cover an implant base
- Restore worn and decayed teeth
- Strengthen weakened and cracked teeth
- Cover misshapen, stained, or discolored teeth
- Porcelain caps look, function and feel just like real teeth
- Replace gold or silver crowns
- Long-lasting
In the case of teeth that are otherwise healthy, porcelain dental veneers may be a good option. These are ideal for masking purely cosmetic issues. Dr. Heringer would be happy to evaluate your smile and determine your most appropriate treatment plan.
